Case Study: Citigroup
HR Systems
Client Overview
Citigroup
is a multi-national financial services corporation. Over
recent years they have merged with or bought Travelers
Life and Annuity, Solomon Smith Barney, European
American Bank and Primerica. They are constantly in
talks with new partners. The department that we work
with provides
staff programs services to U.S. employees. These services
include corporate systems for community involvement
programs and employee welfare programs.
Client Need
Citigroup
is very aware of total cost of ownership for their
systems. To maximize their useful life, systems need
solid database design and modular coding. As new
entities join under the corporate umbrella, information
from diverse systems needs to be incorporated into the
staff services systems. Employees of acquired
organizations need to be serviced by existing corporate
staff services systems even though the organizations
that maintain the employee information rely on different
information systems.
The Solution
We delivered custom software systems that have a
consistent user interface so they can be quickly learned
by staff. Ability to use one system means ability to use
them all. The programs are modular and rely on object
oriented technology making them easy to modify. Expert
database design has resulted in systems that are now
moving into their tenth year of operation. We
additionally provide responsive technical support that
includes reacting to corporate change on an almost daily
basis. We communicate with business managers who make
policy decisions and IT departments to inquire about
their systems, methods and capabilities. That
information is then quickly analyzed and staff services
systems are modified so the client can respond quickly
to the needs of employees of new corporate entities.
